realmmedia.com — While Sony maintains that they're going to release the PlayStation 3 this spring, the entire industry, says that there's no chance that the console will release anytime before the fall season. Now you can add one of Sony's major component providers, Nvidia, to the list.

Dead link for me.From what nVidia is saying it can't be determined if the PS3 is late, depending on the financials between nVidia and Sony.

Doesn't matter if it's late to me... I need to shell out coin for an HD entertainment system before the PS3 or even XBOX360 are of an value to me.Until then, I'll just play games on my $4000 super computer and 100 games for my PS2.

Ummm... didn't they already announce a September 21 (or so) ship date? I seem to remember reading that somewhere. Anyway, doesn't matter, Sony will release it when its ready (as opposed to MicroSoft).

I am not defending Sony, but last time I checked, spring ended in June, not April.

Hmm, let me see. Spring is about a month away and no one has played a beta unit or seen a real time demo of the PS3. The developers haven't even received a final developers box. I guess all the beta testers and such are being kept in a secret cave deep within Mt Fujiyama. PS3 this spring or even this fall. I have serious doubts.

What I'm confused about is, if they're looking at ship dates due to royalties, does that mean they sold them all the chips Sony plans to use already???I mean, I don't think they would just hand over the schematics and let Sony fab their own chips?

Ok sure this article basis the conclusion that PS3 is going to ship late on some pretty dodgey evidence but the continuous articles released hating on PS3 are really swaying my opinion of the console.Viva La Revolution!

For all you saying we don't know what the terms of the agreement is between Sony and Nvidia is. Nvidia will not be waiting for there money. Remember when M$ tried to screw Nvidia on the Xbox. Nvidia will not be floating an of the cost of the PS3 that's Sony's problem.
