phoronix.com — "For almost a year now Windows gamers have been able to benefit from the advantages of Scalable Link Interface, or better known as SLI, while up until now alternative OS folks [...] haven't had any such luck utilizing this innovative technology." This will all change with the 8XXX series currently under development.

It's good news. It means more support for games on the Linux platform. Every little bit helps. More people using Linux with more support for modern gaming means the odds of developer support for Linux also increases. It also helps to remove the image that Windows is the best gaming platform. It's just a point of view that may not have ever been correct but it's still an important step. It's all a chain of events with each occurrence relying on the other. The reasons behind the support aren't important, the support itself is.

Um, a Linux box IS a PC (technically, a Mac is a Personal Computer, too), Nvidia has always supported Linux with optimized drivers, and there is nothing wrong with Linux users trying to get in on gaming too - just because that's the way it is, doesn't mean that's the way it has to or always will be, and the fact that there ARE games and game ports for linux is proof enough that there are enough Linux gamers to justify support.

Quoth nuclearpenguins:"If you want to play games you get a PC. If you want to not play games you get a Mac or a Linux box."And since when were Mac and Linux not PCs? Macintosh computer and Linux computer are subsets of Personal computer. Not to mention that I can make a Mac turn into a Linux box, a Dell with Windows turn into a Linux Box (or even an OSX box), etc, etc, etc.

This is a Good Thing for games and computers in general. However the next video card that I will buy will be in a Mac (it's the same options, nVidia or Ati).
