linux-watch.com — Sources close to Novell indicate that a deal with Microsoft concerning Linux will be announced at 2 PM Pacific time today. The two companies are rumored to be collaborating on technologies to make it easier for users to run both SUSE Linux and Windows on the same desktop.

O.K. That's three posts today that make me think that Microsoft is making some radical changes in its business model. (One of those posts was the open sourcing of the Windows CE kernel.) It sounds like a compromise, but they may really be attempting to challenge VMware and such. Remember, they want to be the software that everybody has to buy. I suspect that they are about to hit hard and heavy on virtualization. Start watching for FUD that claims that Xen and VMware are hard and expensive to manage.
