Why does Hasbro deserve the Scrabble trademark? The game was made over 70 years ago and the creator died ages ago. Am I the only one that thinks that Scrabble should be open for competing online services in the same way Chess or Checkers is?The law for trademark should not extend any further than 25 years. That way, the content creator gets his due and the game isn't unfairly hurt in the future by arbitrary corporate ownership.
When will large corporations learn that proprietary is a four-letter word online. Just because you have the right to do it doesn't mean it's a smart thing to do. Work with, not against, the cyber culture and you'll reap huge benefits for your brand.
