early peanuts was amazingly good. His stuff in the last decade or two of his career / life were not even close to the earlier brilliance. He did a lot of experimenting.Krazy Kat and Nemo existed back in the day when a comic artist could use most - if not all - of a page to do their thing, and they both used the medium to it's fullest potential. I think Watterson was most inspired by Pogo - according to his own words and the obvious little touches in his art and characterizations. You should check out both of the upper two, there are collections of Krazy Kat all over the place, and recently there was a pretty nice Little Nemo in Slumberland collection released.
(Sorry if these appears twice. The "Save Comment" button didn't take the first time.)Yep, you are correct Almightlygosh. And I’d like to give credit to the writer and artist of that Calvin and Jobs satire. It was written by Jacob Lambert and drawn by Gary Hallgren. It’s from a two page spread in the current issue of MAD Magazine. It’s the Super Hero issue. Yep, the same issue that has the Sucker City Ad in it. The one that caused so much concern and then repentence from the folks at Circuit City.Dick DeDick DeBartoloMAD’s Maddest Writer
