Hah while you are walking around like a fool to charge your phone im sitting mine on my belly and shaking it every so often while eating my big mac and drinking my coke.I WIN
That's like saying I already get from point A to point B when I walk to work, so I might as well do it while carrying a 100 lbs basket on my head. True, as others have pointed out, the amount of energy the phone will sap from you is small (a lot smaller than my exaggerated example), but that does not make it zero. The misconception is that the phone is consuming energy that would otherwise be wasted. It is not. It is consuming energy that you otherwise would not have been consuming were you without the phone.
