connectedaction.net — Adding "network" to the charts available in Excel 2007 makes the spreadsheet into a powerful platform for analysis and visualization of social networks. NodeXL facilitates network overview, discovery and exploration with a free and open codebase that implements the tools needed to import, analyze, sort, filter, and display graphical networks.

NodeXL is a wonderful *free* add-on for Excel, for anyone who works with network-based data. Combining advanced layouts and graph algorithms with the flexibility of a spreadsheet, this tool is great for qualitative and quantitative network analysis, image generation, etc. Screenshots and a short slide deck should be available at codeplex.com/NodeXL. I've worked with Pajek, NetworkX and other tools and this is by far the easiest to use and the quickest to take me from data to results.

Big fan - low start up cost, nice pictures. Light on analytics, but heavy on ease-of-use. Some neat features such as creating egonets. Only for windows, but will run under bootcamp (as long as you have Office 2007, I think).
