@ Joy Ellen - that's such a simple and viable plan you can bet they'd make it illegal. Washington's eager to save the rich Bankers who *made* the bad loans, but not the poor people who got them. This is twisted injustice and predestined to fail. And if anyone thinks $700B is *all* it will cost, the need to stop sipping the Kool Aid.

How about not letting peoples morgages balloon for 10 more years. Most people default on their morgages when their teaser rates expire and their interest rates go sky high.
