hack247.co.uk— Coke has finally released a firmware update so the popular Coke machine hack is rendered useless. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.

when i was at ITT the night students would do this to the machines all the time. It was very annoying when you wanted a coke for lunch and couldn't because some douche had "hacked" it the night before.
How exactly are the machines ripping you off? I realize the price of the ingredients isn't anything close to the price of the soda, but since when did you MUST have a Coke to live? Thirsty? Drink water. This is like those idiots who steal music by saying, "This is our way to fight BACK against the machine!". Just be honest (at least with yourself) and say you do it because you don't want to spend the money, but want something for free.
A better way to stick it to Coca-Cola would be to not buy their product.I figured out an even better drink hack anyways. All you need is a glass and a kitchen sink. You turn the tap that says 'C' on it, and this cold drinkable liquid called water comes out... Just catch it in your glass. I just hope there isn't a firmware upgrade that stops this hack anytime soon.
Reminds me of the coke machine i saw opened up the other day. Had schematics in it and everything, and some sort of superusers manual. Didn't really have the time to look at it for long.
I tried this hack a few weeks ago and found that it didnt work. It appeared that there was a bar of some sorts that would let the machine know there was a coke waiting on the conveyer belt. The machine would refund the money but would be effectively bricked. Any additional money put in would instantly be refunded. Anyone else seen this?

I guess you could be a dick and go around hitting the button combo for other people to lose money on.
