engadget.com — Didn't think we'd have to bother debunking something this obviously satirical, but about a zillion people have tipped us today with a link to a post on iPhone Savior about "Geoff Evila," who reportedly went into a coma in early June, causing him to miss the iPhone launch he had been so eagerly awaiting.

This story has a pic, so it must be true as well...

We can't, to the best of my knowledge. I made the same mistake. We just have to realize our ignorance and decide to be better informed next time.

When I first heard the price of the iphone I passed out, hit my head and fell into a coma.

This isn't a surprise, you would have to be crazy to care that much about a over hyped phone that can't even copy and paste.

Are you retarded? Click on my profile genius, do I look twelve? Secondly, this news story is not an ideal I shape my life on, whereas his belief is. I do a lot of reading every day, and as a result, sometimes I don't catch every little detail. Clearly I wasn't the only one. Lastly, and why it is NOT ironic, is that as the evidence was produced that highlighted this story as fake, I CHANGED my belief that it was a true story. That's right, I altered my beliefs, based on the evidence. Honestly, as the story was written there was no obvious reason to claim "fake". I wouldn't put it past most Apple fanboys. And it wasn't from a satirical site like the Onion, so I dugg it. Like i already said I buried it after I found out it was fake.

I bought an iPhone 2 days ago and it didn't have the iTunes Wifi app icon on the box, So no, you can't go just by that.
