wii.ign.com— PS3 hits the market in two days in Japan, but no one is lining up for it. However, only 200 people waiting to pre-order the Wii at one location.

The Wii is being marketed in Tokyo subtly. Theres plenty of large (2mx8m) minimalistic adverts for Wii in train stations, and the monitors on the Yamanote are running lots of Wii adverts as well as traditional train posters. I'm estimating that we'll see the outsides of the trains decorated as well when the release date approaches, and a heavier TV campaign in the week before.Nintendo like the play a subtle advertising strategy before a release.
My 1st gen lasted until last year when I finally sent it in. I had disassembled it and voided the warranty, but they still paid for the new system and the shipping. It was a simple problem with the gears controlling the distance the laser was away from the disc...that was really the only problem with early PS2's. I'm sure they have all of the hardware crap out, and any system bugs they can fix with a simple update.
haha my bad "I am a teacher."I asked my second class and none of them knew that the PS3 will be released this weekend despite the fact that many of them claim to be gamers. yes they all believe that both machines are too expensive and are happy to keep typing away on their cell phones. A few of them did however note that they have a DS.Anyway...I'm a bit confused as to why my original message got several negative responses. I was just trying to add some color to this story.
Lottery systems are completely unfair. A person who puts in a lot of effort to keep up on the news and waits in line for days has the same chance at getting one as a schmo who walks in off the street and says "There's a new playstation system? Give me one and one of them there madden games!"

He said nice try. Kotaku is NOT the place to look for balanced news. That photo is probably just some guys waiting in 2002 for a job interview there or something, that's about as credible/professional as Kotaku would ever be.Eat this wiitard:http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=11717
