blog.newsweek.com — Wiiware will be an online service to download original content, like Xbox-live or PSN. Nintendo, however, is reaching out particularly to indie developers: small development houses with big ideas. Sounds like a dream come true!

This is cool. I was beginning to wonder if they were ever going to do anything with the online options. Now I want accessories for my Mii!

This is why I think middle-man video game retailers don't have much time left. I don't think it will be long until downloadable games via internet (xboxlive, wiiware, steam, many MMOs) really take off. Cheaper prices and convienance make the process sooo much easier.

Sornos: no, I think Nintendo is definitely copying Microsoft here. And I think that's a good thing. There are definitely times to be innovative, and there are definitely times to copy someone else when that other person has a great thing going. Microsoft may have issues with the hardware, but Xbox live is golden. It's good to see Nintendo walking the tight rope that is a little bit of innovation (Wii remote, etc.) and a little bit of plagiarism.

I'm interested in developing for it, but there's conflicting information on different sites.BBC news says there'll be a downloadable "tool" for the PC for developers to use.Do we pay for it or what? Details are sketchy to say the least, is this going to be another XNA type thing?
