next-gen.biz — The patent reads, “This invention relates to a trigger operated electronic device. In particular, it concerns a mouse for operating a cursor in a computer system.” Of course, the Nintendo Wii has a trigger-operated controller which is also used as a pointing device. Diagrams from Interlink’s patent bear a passing resemblance to the Wii Remote.

I have a feeling this is because Nitendo just sold over 1,249,374 Wii's in under a month...This is exactly how one of the Lost Episodes of Dave Chappeles Show played out... Congratulations! You just got a million dollars, and in the skit everybody starts treating him differently...Same f**king thing here!!!They are complaining just because Nitendo is actually getting attention and tons of money of this device...So either make something better Interlink or just get the heck out of the way and let companies who can actually do a better job do there business the right way...

Quick! Lets make patents on everything we can think of so we can sue future companies when they capitalize on our idea.

they just want to have a share of the profits of nintendo. most probably because they are going down and they don't have a choice but to gamble on legal fees and try to steal some profits.

don't give them a f**king penny. If they were so smart and knew it would be something they should have frigging made it as a peripheral since it's so cheap to manufacture anyway.

I can see Nintendo writing a big check to Interlink and settling out of court just to get this nonsense out of their way. Hell, maybe they could even throw in a few free DS Lites to those sue-happy bastards.

The patent's independent claims all discuss "a housing for location at least partly between a first finger and a thumb of a user's hand...a contoured step having a first face for generally providing a rest location for the first finger of the user's hand..."The full patent:http://www.patentmonkey.com/PM/PatentID/6850221.aspx
