Exactly, no WPA is really lame, I hope one of my neighbors has an unprotected WAP.

"Yeck - WEP encryption only? :o(This is gonna be a pain to use at home I think (unless my router supports running WPA and WEP at the same time...)"That would be pointless. That's like putting a heavy steel door with deadbolts on the front door, and then only using a button-lock on the back door. People can still get inside easily if they use the path of least resistance.

Wow...it seems odd that Nintendo, who has been behind the industry for the past few generations, seems to be really innovating in this area (wireless multiplayer).

You could always buy on the Nintendo "USB Connector" things. It only works on windows XP, and I can't find a price for it anywhere but it would be a good secure solution for those who don't want to go backwards from WPA.The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is for use with the Nintendo DS only. It will not work with other wireless devices. In order to use the USB connector, you will need: * PC (The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is not Macintosh compatible) * Windows XP * A high-speed internet connection (such as DSL or cable) * A Wi-Fi compatible Nintendo DS gamehttp://www.nintendowifi.com/consumerservice/gettingStarted.do?entryId=usbSetup

Oh man, seeing actual stats has tripled my desire for all of the wi-fi titles. The thought of people out there playing Mario Kart and American Sk8land online while I have to wait is just torture.

People can go almost anywhere and find completely unsecured networks. What makes you think they'll be interested in hacking a WEP secured network when they can probably drive a mile and find 1 or 2 unsecured ones?

surfing the web on the ds may happen,. nothing has been announced yet though.. although it would be very easy with a touch screen as a keyboard. it may have been a year but theyll end up with more online games than the PSP have.. im hearign more and more of a PSP doorstop now... psp is noow nothing more than a movie player..
