multiplayerblog.mtv.com — Nintendo has moms and Mario/Zelda fans locked up.But, since the Wii launched in 2006, the company has had a hard time attracting the hardcore gamers who enjoy things like ?Halo,? ?BioShock? or ?Call of Duty.?

There is nothing really wrong with the Wii console, the way it's selling is proof enough, but when it comes to what multiplayer gamers want, the Wii just can't provide it.If Nintendo could create a game that has over 1 million gamers logging in on the release date to play (Halo 3 / Gears of War 2) i'd be impressed beyond words. But with their controller, spec limits, & online service (or lack of) it just doesn't seem possible.

Yeah, right, they just won't be any good. Sticking a gun in Mario or Link's hands does not a Halo killer make.

The Wii is definitely a system that can be complimentary to either the PS3 or 360. There are games that interest me on the Wii (No more heroes, Metroid Prime, Zelda, RE4, de blob, boom blox), but if that was all I had, I’m sure I’d feel like I was missing out on the epic (in the original sense of the word) games on the other systems. I’m not just talking about Halo or CoD4—I’m talking about RPGs. Does the Wii have anything like Oblivion, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, or Lost Odyssey? They are just seriously lacking in game variety. I mean, they didn’t even get Mirror’s Edge, which seems like a game totally suited to the Wii.

Yeah, who cares that Wii has better specs than the original Xbox! I mean, it's not like Halo and Halo 2 were good games or anything! No one bought that game with it's texture pea soup! It's not like Halo 2 sold 8 Million copies or anything! That would be almost as crazy as Call of Duty 5 coming out on Wii!
