gizmodo.com — We knew Nintendo had screwed up, we had no clue just how much this mistake cost them in real, speculated dollars. James Lin, senior analyst at the MDB Capital Group, puts the estimated lost sales at $1.3 billion stating that, "They could easily sell double what they are selling."

Christmas leads to a huge spike in food poisoning each year, because so much special fresh foods are produced one month before and stocked in the worst conditions. So yes, that shopping frenzy is insane.

That is capitalism. Are you not capitalist? I am not.You know, you could buy your son great books written by geniuses if you really cared about him intelligently, instead of buying something as stupid as videogames. Do you want him to be an average moron?

The problem isn't surplus consoles, consoles can be always be sold. The problem is being left with surplus manufacturing facilities (a cost probably measured in the hundreds of millions) And also keeping quality control high in new quickly assembled facilities in china while using new untested manufacturers of parts and components is no easy task, and with Nintendo's incredibly good warranty service and a habit of advance replacements with two day postage paid air mail Nintendo could stand to lose more on a 360 style run of shoddy consoles than they would not even making them.

Why don't they just buy or rent a plant? Some of you are saying the plant would be useless after they're done? No it wouldn't, they could sell it, duh? Whatever they would lose on the plant, if anything at all, they would more than make up for in sales. They would also sell many more games (more consoles = more games sold)

Nothing stings quite like the loss of a guaranteed 1.8 million sold really without the need for any advertising.
