Say what you will, but the Playstation 2-controller was the best "classic" controller since Super Nintendo. Comfortable grip and familiar button layout. Only gripe I ever had about it was that your thumbs would easily start sliding off the analogue sticks after a while.

When it comes to online.. my Wii seems to be sick... it will connect wirelessly, but often times has difficulties staying connected... any suggestions would be fabulous!
