blog.wired.com— NOA senior VP George Harrison says that Nintendo is open to the possibility of translating Japan-only games and releasing them on the US Virtual Console. Make your voice heard and tell NOA to do it!

I wrote to Nintendo just now, I advise everyone else to do the same, I will prove the full text of what I sent, let';s keep it intellegnet."This is in response to the rumor that there may infact be Japanese Virtual consoles titles released in the US and abroad for games that were never regionalized outside of the US. I personally have spent over 200 dollars on Wii Virtual console games so far, infact the Virtual console is the main selling point of the Wii for me. as such I'm actually quite thrilled with the potential for Japanese Classic games making an appearance. RPG's, action games, they could all compliment the selection and line up, and increase Virtual console catalog size.I think the release of one or two Japanese games on the Virtual console would be a blessing as you would be able to gain newer fans to older IP's, and in general increase market share potential.I will not go on however, as I'm sure you've recieved similar requests and input, bjut as someone who has worked the retail side of the entertainment industry for years I can see a grand opportunity that would greatly increase profitibality and generate consumer interest.A response would be nice, however one is not expected."
My own letter to NOA:"Recently Wired.com reported that NOA Senior VP George Harrison said that games formerly released only in Japan may be available for the virtual console. This would be a wonderful and lucrative thing for NOA to do. I'm including a link at the end of this email to a page on digg.com. As of this writing, 829 people had "dugg" the story (meaning 829 separate people thought the story was interesting). It is likely that each of these 829 people would purchase a game previously released only in Japan, such as Sin & Punishment for the N64 or Mother for the NES. There are also numerous comments on the page speaking in support of this idea. I beg you to consider the wishes of the fans, and to begin releasing previously unreleased games. I can promise that I'd pick up a few myself.<a class="user" href="http://digg.com/gaming_news/Nintendo_Considering_Releasing_Japan_Only_Games_on_US_Virtual_Console">http://digg.com/gaming_news/Nintendo_Considering_Releasing_Japan_Only_Games_on_US_Virtual_Console</a>"
They can keep 'em. They're crap anyway. Bizarre storylines or dialogue, Japanese-specific cultural references and prepubescent girls with big-ass swords...yawn. No thanks.
"We don't WANT emulated versions of the games. We want legit versions of the games"Excuse me, but doesn't Virtual Console work through emulation, using the exact same ROM images as other emulators?
By the way, some user translations are just superb. For example, I played a user translated version of FFV using ZSNES in the late 90's. Square then released the game for the PlayStation, but their translation was a vastly inferior hack job. There were some amazingly talented and dedicated people in emu scene. Don't put them down by saying that their efforts are not "legit" and s**t like that.
PikachelseaIf you honestly think that, you are a moron. You are criticizing me for playing emulated games on another system, while you are patently waiting to do the exact same thing. You are the epitome of a nintendo fanboy if you deny yourself playing translated games because you want to support Nintendo. In case you don't know, most of those games never came to the USA BECAUSE of Nintendo.
That could be profitable.... But we're scared that some companies may be sued. They do feature characters under age 18, being molested by alien penguins, and so on.
