lifehacker.com — What's inside Google's just-announced Chrome Operating System? How does it work, exactly? Nobody outside Google knows. We can, however, build a dream operating system from the ground up, and that's what we're doing with some help from the hive mind.

I would like to see labeling for all types of documents and media. If I want to see all documents and media applying to a certain project (no matter where they are stored), i just open my "Finder" and click on that label.

Why would they ever support WINE? It's the total opposite of Google's strategy. Google wants you to use web-based applications like Google Docs. WINE allows people to keep using Microsoft Office; from their point of view that would be *losing* the war.

I hope the final version isn't actually called Chrome OS, that'd be annoying. I don't even like the name Chrome for the browser.

WINE would also let PC Gamers run all their games, and would give office program users some choice.

SECURITY RISK ANYBODY?: Presumably, with this OS, your files will be stored and/or backed-up online at some level. This will give the government the ability to subpoena Google and instantly get access to millions of people's personal Text, Audio, Movie, etc.. files. What if you have pirated stuff *gasp*? A mass subpoena initiated to help counter credit card theft (for example) could lead to the revelation of your illegal files and lead to your being *criminally* prosecuted. It's not that I don't trust Google with all of my personal information, I just don't trust the government.

Any ignorant motherf**ker who cries about Capitalism should live for at least 2 years under another system.
