blog.scifi.com — Have a hankering for the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit, but don't feel like shelling out nearly 100 clams for those special Nike shoes? Now you can attach the SwitchEasy RunAway AnyShoe Adapter to the shoelaces of any ol' shoes and slip that little sensor inside, for under 12 bucks.

Below is a link to one that is even cheaper (5.99US) and works just great. I got one for myself and then later ordered 2 plus 2 Nike+iPod kits for Christmas gifts.http://shoepouch.com/

i bought a strip of velcro at the grocery store for 2 dollars. it sticks to the tongue of the shoe under the laces and works perfectly. it is light and cheap and can move from shoe to shoe. there is no need for any other solution.

Buy it anyways, its a great product. Unless you are an endurance athlete, knowing your heart rate every time you run is not going to provide any real help. The nike+ definitely boosted my enthusiasm for running, and made me start running a 5K every day. The velcro method mentioned above works great. The sensor has to be flat though, otherwise it does not work properly. If you want your heart rate, just put your finger on your pulse for 15 seconds, count the number of beats and multiply by 4. Easy enough.

This one looks the best, IMO.

The Nike+ system depends on security for its accuracy, it cannot slop around, etc. We use the Shoe Pouch (shoepouch.com). We checked out the others like the not so secure runaway, the expensive marware wrap, etc. but each had significant drawbacks as listed above. If we could sew, we would do it ourselves, but we tried the sock, the tape, the under the laces and it very commonly fell out or came loose. So in the end, it was much easier to just get a neoprene Shoe Pouch holder that someone else made, and laced it to my shoe.
