theinquirer.net — Capricorn Technologies just released a low power, intelligent storage system based on the Via mini-ITX boards. The short story is 3TB per 1U node, 120TB per 19 inch rack. With a full x86 PC on board, you can your management software essentially for free. You get all this for about 80W per node, or 3200W per rack.

> How would you feel if the article were titled "Hot Rod - 19 Inches and 120 Terabytes". Not so fun then is it? :DIt's not the gender to which the comment is ascribed that is important. It is the gender ascribing it. Blokes find sexual innuendo funny (in a schoolboy way) whether it's about girls or blokes. So actually that is still equally funny to blokes (in a schoolboy way).Just consider the thought that innuendo is directly proportional to the degree of sexual frustration within an individual and then you may find sympathy rather than anger. Not saying it's cool to act like a 15 yr old boy, but at the same time it's sad rather than malicious. There is a huge degree of difference between teenage innuendo and sexual harassment, the first is not directed at an individual, the second is. The first is just plain sad. Since we are using one of the largest networks built for the transmissions of dirty pictures ever, it's hardly suprising that we see the first in such huge abundance.Hope you get to work with more mature individuals in the future, but don't expect to find them hanging around forums etc. (irony noted :-) ).Regards - Neil.

"If you think that is a lot, imagine the Tivo you could make out of one, you could have every reality TV program at your fingertips for a little less than the cost of an average house."

Factor in the cost of the psycotherapy you would need for watching it.

In ten years time you'll have it in one inch and you'll laugh of how surprised you were now

In it's specific form, the title of this article is sexist. As a female, I always find it off putting when new hardware is equated with female body parts in a sexual fashion. I also do not care for individuals who tell me as a professional I have to learn to take it and then tell me it's not degrading, despite just complaining about it.How would you feel if the article were titled "Hot Rod - 19 Inches and 120 Terabytes". Not so fun then is it? :D
