macscoop.com — Apple will release an iPhone software update during MacWorld Expo 2008, well informed sources confirmed MacScoop. But it appears that the unpolished iPhone sofware version recently leaked on the Internet doesn't include all the features of the final release.

So we should be excited for a feature that should have been implemented far before the device was launched? Whoo...

Yeah there have been many instances where this would have been usefull. I have needed to copy text from web pages to chat windows and emails. I can't wait for this feature.

hah ah, yeah I guess I was thinking of flash being allowed on an individual whitelist site basis and denied for all others. To have it available for all sites would be pretty horrible.

@Myonosken, are you that dim that you missed mine? This forward thinking is typical of Apple, and adds to the triumvirate of iPhone innovation: Web browser, cellphone and music player.

I believe, if ou were to check, the iPhone supports both 802.1X and Cisco VPN configuration -- you'll find that IS is deliberately NOT supporting the iPhone (MAC Filtering/Blocking)

The iphone is my first apple product besides an old ipod. I can say that the iPhone has exceeded my expectations even lacking such a useful feature as copy and paste. The idea of a pocket computer has fascinated me since the 90's. But in a decade of PIMs and smartphones none has competently presented itself. Most have limited memory, poor durability, easily scratched screens, software that requires endless menuing and clicking, and many are still too bulky for the average pocket. Then came the iPhone a competent well balanced package which is durable, useful, usable, and pocketable. Broken down to base components it does nothing that wasn't really done before. But the truth is that given the same ingredients some chefs will come up with a better dish. Whomever cooked this one up in Apple's kitchen gets blue ribbon at the county fair. Extra kudos for them that copy and paste can be added via an update as easily as salt can be added to soup once its reached the table. However even an "Iron chef" is not invincible. I look forward to challenges from competitors now that a hot mix has been identified.

Well I don't understand why Apple didn't include copy&paste function in the iPhone v1.0....http://iphonegap.com
