Well clothing that contains "superfine particles of silica glass" makes me nervous! :P But seriously, this is a potentially huge invention/technology. Outerspaceapple, you're right that it won't stop injury, but a few broken ribs is better than a hole in your chest, I'd wager. :)PS. 'retr0', that's a lousy thing to say. I know of many people both presently & formerly in the service that feel it was the best thing they ever did. I am not in the service, but I don't judge or demean them for choosing a different path than me. Why would you say something like that?
I'm not from the US. As for the topic, a crushing injury can kill you but at least you have a fighting chance. If you could have sort of crushable frame to take the crushing forces even better.
i think this is great. What it does is allows body armor to be alot thinner so the Kevlar they are using now can be half as thick and work better. so technically its concealed more. and yeah the silica glass makes me uncomfortable in more ways than one. Can anyone say Itchy.
