There is no secrets here. Microsoft is supported by 85 percent of the market, which means internet access is being done with explorer. Hackers (you know who you are) have been working on cracks since the beta versions of Vista came out earlier this year. You can not compare the security of Windows to Mac, Linex, or any other operating system. Spyware is going to attack no matter what you use. Stay away for Internet Explorer and use Firefox or Opera or anything else. That solves half your ills. Those that bitch the most are those using free antivirus and spyware protection. What do you expect. I have Trend Micro and webroot, spyware doctor and I use Housecall and other programs to keep my machine clean. I clean and defrag my regestry weekly, if not daily dependng on my use. This isn't about Microsoft. This is about morons with nothing better to do than sit around and figure out ways to make them look bad for building the best and most popular mousetrap. Say what you want. But, if it wasn't true, the company would be broke by now. Check their stock lately? And watch for it again what the public versions of Vista hit the streets in the new year. They are doing fine. And the aren't sweating those that expect them to protect you from predators. It's your job to do that. It's your responsibility to set up firewalls and virus protection correctly. Not Microsoft's.

I think the point is users should not have to go through all those hoops all the time. Computers are tools and when you have to piss around with them all the time, they cease to be useful. Besides, my Grandma has no idea what any of that means...and she shouldn't have to.
