What does that mean? You can subpoenaed and forced to testify just like it's always been. Other people's right to a fair trial overrides your right not to show up and testify.

Yeah, it's journalism. Not nearly the same level of research (often none), no editor to check your work, and no college degree required, no serious repercussions when you 're wrong (outside a few cases) and, oh yeah, anonymity to say basically what you want instead of what is true.Yeah, it's still journalism.Idiot.

"the bill now defines "journalism" to focus more on the function of the job: "the gathering, preparing, collecting, photographing, recording, writing, editing, reporting, or publishing of news or information that concerns local, national, or international events or other matters of public interest for dissemination to the public."Key quote. I think this is definitely a step forward.
