pcworld.com — After the leaked pictures of the Zune HD appeared on Saturday, more unconfirmed technical specifications of the device have now emerged. Microsoft's new portable media player is set to go neck-to-neck with Apple's iPod Touch, as the specifications of the Zune HD make it a viable contender.

If they made the phone anything like the iPhone I would seriously sell my iPhone for it. That thing looks sick! Lets hope they can pull off an interface jsut as nice (or better) than apple. My wishlist includes PC syncing with LINUX. Not likely, since microsoft has it out for linux. :(But hey, at least I can get away from bloody itunes....

This is the most ridiculous rumor article i've ever read. The feature set of winmo 6.5 could never support any of those features. The Zune HD website is owned by a "zune enthusiast" who claims he photoshopped the photo himself. Annnnd tegra? tegra is sweet!!! and completely imcompatible with current winmo software. Furthermore the code need for the type of 3d acceleration on tegra would require a rewrite basically from the ground up. And we are supposed to believe that the company which refused to support capacitive touch screen in winmo6.5 is coming out with a portable xbox hdmi capacitive touch screen media player that no one has heard about 3 month after they announced the crappyness that is 6.5?maybe the magic 8 ball that the writer used needs a little more shaking.

the microsoft that "pushed apple to the brink of bankruptcy" is long gone, and if you don't believe me check the last quarter returns. i agree with you that they're good at watching the market, but disagree that they make their products better than the competition. that business model might have worked in the early nineties, but consumers expect more now, and there's a much larger, more tech-savvy audience that isn't going to buy the 2nd and 3rd rate products that microsoft has been consistently churning out as of late.

actually Microsoft has been really good about the software,we I first got my Zune 30 it was a really expensive Mp3 player, and picture viewer. Now it has capability to sync itself via WiFi, download songs and podcasts with no computer access, ( jus WiFi), games, and just works better with out ever having to buy anything.

I have a modest 20 GB of music, even with the 32 GB version I'd have a hard time fitting many movies or tv shows on there. A 120 GB HD would be nice.

The Zune is so far behind the times. No one trust or cares about MS anymore. The best they could is make a commercial about Best Buy and other people's hardware. The company is in sad shape.

http://kotaku.com/5270893/zune-marketplace-comes-t ...Speaking with The Guardian, Microsoft's Chris Stevenson has announced that the Zune Marketplace - and everything available on it - is to be made available to Xbox 360 owners. The move is part of a growing effort by Microsoft to bring their two "entertainment" devices closer together, and is one which will no doubt heighten speculation that the upcoming ZuneHD, also confirmed by Stevenson (due out in the US this fall), will be a bit more serious as a gaming device.Making the Zune marketplace available to Xbox Live users means that all the store's content - from music to TV shows to other video content - can now be purchased by Xbox 360 users, with no need for a Zune. It's basically like opening up the Apple Store on the console, except...not quite as good.Users will be able to stream, rent and download content from the store when it opens in "late autumn" (so late fall), with a variety of pricing and ownership options available. The catch: the Zune marketplace on 360 won't be available globally. Only the US, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland & Spain will have access to it, so Canadians, Australians and anyone else reading this not on that list, sorry. We'd expect the finer details of this move to be announced at E3 next week.UPDATE - It appears that the Guardian piece broke an embargo set down for the story, and in the process got a few things wrong. An official Microsoft press release clarifying the details is on the way, we'll update as soon as we receive it.The funny part is while i was reading the Title header and part way down the article i was going to putThe CATCH: We Canadians get "F" over again !And here it is again !so Canadians, Australians and anyone else reading this not on that list, sorrySo you mean to tell me Microsoft ! We F'n share borders between province and states ! in more places than than any country in the world including Mexico !Purto Rico which isn't even a GD State and only a Common Wealth ( disputed at that !) gets this !Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland & Spain will have access to itWTF !We share the same place we are all Americans ! You are the United States " OF" America! We are Canada ( "United Provinces" ) We all love in NORTH AMERICA !I don't get this at all ! And it has nothing to do with the CRTC of Canada cause they and their laws are only subjected to Broadcasts ( TV and Radio ) only not internet domins or internet streamingmeaning the Live market place and now this Zune market place being blocked to Canadians is because of Microsoft !I say We Canadians should boycott M$ and U.S products we spend most of our dollars their ! So why shoould we reap some if not share the benifits !And that's real !@ It's DAM REAL !

Well, in the case of the iPod and iTunes Apple has kept sprinting along with innovative new features, smaller and faster hardware size and increased screen resolution regardless of wheher their competition was growing, sinking, or virtually evaporating that year.IE definitely stagnated when it did not have competition stealing its market share but when that plunged Microsoft came out with a couple little releasee, adding some long missing features and nudging a little in the direction of w3 web standards.
