huffingtonpost.com— A cartoon likening the author of the stimulus bill, perhaps President Barack Obama, with a rabid chimpanzee graced the pages of the New York Post on Wednesday.

What I can't understand is how the editors at the New York Post allowed this cartoon to be printed in thier magazine in the first place. I mean, they had to know that this was going to set off a firestorm of controversy. And how they can then claim that the cartoon in no way a reference so President Obama is beyond me. If this were simply a picture of two Police Officers gunning down a chimp, nobody would think twice about it. What connects it to the President is the caption, which makes reference to the Stimulus Bill, which is the work of President Obama. Did they actually think that they could pull a fast one on the American People like that. I think the fact that they are now aploligizing for this is a clear indicator that this has created a huge backlash among a large cross section of Americans. Look, I am in no way in favor of censorship. But, if you're gonna do something like this in this day and age, you'd better be prepared for what's to come later. Hopefully, next time, The Post will exercise greater responsibility when it comes to thier political and social satire.
@b4gk1il You obviously haven't read through the entire thread, so I'll just ignore you for being unprepared to discuss this matter, as most 14 years here. As for the idiots here thinking nothing was wrong with cartoon, defending it, and even reveling in it, why would the big RM print an apology in the NYP? Seems you should be arguing with him now. <a class="user" href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/24/rupert-apologizes-for-car_n_169386.html">http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/24/rupert-ap ...</a>Suck it up ladies. It was offensive and racist.
LOL, A whole cadre of Monkey brains wrote the Stimulus bill. Besides doesn't anybody remember the cartoonist referring to George Bush as a Chimp, or "Chimpy" as some used to call him. Was that a racist innuendo?Bunch of liberal sad sacks.
Thank you, theeEqualizer; I couldn't have said it better my self. You're an insightful dude. I also wasn't offended by it. In fact, I didn't get initially. However, once explained, I could see why some would be offended. What offends me more is how some people can express outrage at the fact the some can find this offensive. I am a 46 year old black man and have been a victim of racial discrimination in my youth. In fact, I still have a chipped tooth as a reminder. The struggle was not that long ago. Some seem to forget that, or are too young and ignorant to realize it.
IDIOTS!!!!! So this is why all of the sudden Al Sharpton dropped the witch Hunt & demonstrations against Sheriff Joe Arpaio in ARIZONA!or postponed them anyway. Here is something in Sharptons 'back yard' where he can play 'Poverty Pimp' & Race Bait & Antagonize tohis fat hearts content, I'm fat to..So i guess i can say that!!! lo!!! Al Sharpton has made a lucrative living off of destroying peoples lifes (Or attempting to) with story's that are blown completely out of portion & several that have been proven to be OUTRIGHT LIE'S YET HECARRIED THEM FORWARD!!! This sad bastard craves public adulation! I cannot understand why the black community still takes this proven fraud seriously! The cartoon doesn't portray NObama in a racicst way, ANYONE with any sense can tell the cartoonist is attacking THE BILL! This show's the mindset of Sharpton & people of his ilk....They will try to evolve this into a purely racist attack asthe only theme, Hell, Sharpton know's it is BULLs**t, But if it get's him some press or even better his ugly face on T.V. making up ridiculous statements using words (ala' Jesse Jackson) that must be a language known only to a few. Drop it Al, People are sick of your s**t!!!

..but it actually applied in Bush's case since he really wasn't all that smart. You're comparing apples to oranges.

I wonder if someone were to publish a cartoon of, lets say, a box of crackers...

And that's why Rupert Murdock is making a public apology for the NYP, because there was nothing wrong with the cartoon? <a class="user" href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/24/rupert-apologizes-for-car_n_169386.html">http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/24/rupert-ap ...</a>Even in the presence of irrefutable evidence, you prefer to cling to your ignorance.

All New ambulance York City workers will soon carry EpiPens to help patients having dangerous allergic reactions. The devices already are being used on Advance Life Support ambulances. <a class="user" href="http://www.1800ambulance.net/service.html">http://www.1800ambulance.net/service.html</a>
