I don't know, man. I just don't understand why the majority of Terminator fans didn't like T3. It was by far my favorite one. it didn't rely on a gimmick like T2, and had a much deeper story than T1. It may not have been as innovative (I mean, it's a three-quel, or what have you), but the whole "tortured, drugged-out John Conner" finally meeting his destiny was pretty cool. The Terminatress was pretty amazing (a robot that forms complex machines) and Claire Daines shall continue to rock the world of any straight man with a pulse. The weakest part of T3 was, surprisingly enough, Arnold. Love him to death, but he looked pretty ragged for an invincible robot (and wasn't that the point, that he wasn't invincible after all?). I just hope that the new producers decide to make T4-6 all about the War Against The Machines. A whole trilogy set in the future ending with John Conner leading humanity to victory over their machine overlords? That sounds pretty damn cool. I hope that the new trilogy follows the path set by T3, one of conflict, good story, and just plain old good Sci-Fi./Ramen!
Actually, that would be a pretty cool action scene for the next movies...I actually want to see the events after Judgement Day, let it happen, i want a land-based sci-fi epic battle.
I agree with Maexus. The series was fine after Terminator 2. They destroyed everything at the Cyberdyne company on which Skynet was supposed to be based, hence no Judgment Day. Then Terminator 3 is released, and we realize that they just postponed the war for six years. So what was the point of going out of their way in Terminator 2 to blow up Cyberdyne Systems while being chased by the virtually invincible T-1000?
serialclone, they went out of their way to blow up Cyberdyne simlply because they believed that would stop Judgement Day. Sarah Connor decided this because A) Skynet in this instance was created by Cyberdyne; logically, destroying Cyberdyne would stop Skynet and even the computer brain of the T1000 in T2 did not dispute this, and B) Reese never fully explained the original creator of Skynet in T1 and so did not dispel the belief (in T2) that Cyberdyne was originally behind it, which it was not. Cyberdyne only came into the picture after they acquired the damaged remains of the bot in T1. Sooooooo, without Cyberdyne, Skynet was able to be made later by (probably) the original creators, the military. The only decent part of T3 was the chase scene.
