s3.amazonaws.com — A new version of TVersity Media Server has been released. TVersity allows you to stream pretty much any media (music/pictures and video) format to your Xbox 360 (with on-the-fly transconding to WMV for videos) from a Windows 2000/XP machine (MCE not required). If you have a 360 please digg up and spread the good word. Previous subs missed.

@avisgothCorrect me if I am wrong, but if you uninstall Quicktime then iTunes will cease to function properly or even startup.

I'll give it a try tonight. Sounds worth a try at least.

Problem with this program is it uses too much RAM while idling. Windows Media Player does the same thing. I just don't get why a server that's currently not streaming anything should use 25~40MB of RAM in the background. It would be great if it could just chillout at a few megabytes until someone actually tries to access media, at which point I'd have no problem with it using more resources.

It doesn't have to be transcoded to WMV, the formats just have to be decoded and then that data streamed to the XBox 360, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks. I just tried it and it works. I can admit when I am wrong.

I think you've answered your own question... it just requires Flash for the main interface (<a class="user" href="http://yourserverip:41952/flashlib)">http://yourserverip:41952/flashlib)</a> or a bog standard web browser for the basic interface (<a class="user" href="http://yourserverip:41952/medialib/browse).">http://yourserverip:41952/medialib/browse).</a> No ActiveX controls in sight. Also, it works perfectly fine in Firefox.
