I once worked with a kid who thought that the XBOX 360's 3 3.6 GHz(or whatever they are) processors were equivalent to a 1 THz p4 or something like that. This mere thought was pure idiocy. The 360's 3 procs are all in-order execution PPCs. Powerpc's are not terribly fast, and the fact that they are unable to execute instructions out of order is a HUGE performance hit. As a matter of fact, every x86 chip since the Pentium Pro has been able to excute instructions out of order. In addition, writing multithreaded software is much more difficult than writing single threaded software. It is hard enough to code around the in-order execution problem, and it's also hard to take advantage of the 3 CPUs anyway. So in reality, the XBOX 360's CPU probably is nowhere near the performance level of your average or even older generation x86 chip.
Counter Strike doesnt run on 8-year hardware...oh sorry maybe at 320x200 or even 640x480 that must look great on your 13" tube monitor. Why dont your run COD2 on that 8-year box. I have worked as a system builder for 11 years and no 8-year PC will run counter strike worth a s**t...you are talking a pentium II systemmaybe an early P3. The P3 just started getting released about 7 years ago. As for games on the Xbox360...let me think it's been out for 2 months...WOW...I guess Microsoft should have released ten thousand games before launch. Let me ask you of the 10,000 games out there which ones do you play every day once a week. I admit I still play Battlefield and MOH...maybe once a month. And to everyone on the PC when was the last time you played a Sports game on there? Like Madden and T-Woods, how bout NHL or even baseball...they are very hard to play and dont look very good on a small screen. I'm sure HL2 looks great with no FSAA and at maybe 800x600. Stop comparing!!! Let it be what it is.

My Geforce 7800 already out performs my friends 360. We even did a side by side comparison of Call of Duty 2.

A dual Opteron dual core system with 8 gigs of (especially fast) ram and 2 7800GTX-512s in SLI beats the XB360 by a lot. :)
