gizmodo.com — Radiohead, never ones to shy away from trying new things, has shot its new video for "House of Cards" without using cameras at all. Whaa? Yes, they've used two fancy new technologies called Geometric Informatics and Velodyne Lidar. To shoot it using lasers and stuff. Let's break it down here.

I remember hearing about a music television channel a long long time ago... I heard they had all kinds of different music videos. I also heard they had a show called Beavis and Butthead. If only it were true... I might actually watch it.MTV is a joke.

The scumbags at Viacom have made sure you can not watch a music video on TV.

Too bad the article doesn't say something informative about the video like "Unfortunately, the video was supposed to drop today but was delayed for some reason, so all we have are the screens. I'll post the video as soon as it comes out."Oh, wait...

As for videos, I love There There's video as well as Knives Out. If you're just getting into them, i highly advise looking into acquiring Hail to the Thief, if you don't have it. Its my favorite, followed by Amnesiac.

Common Digg Interests? That's scary, I'd rather interests be diverse, spanning a wide range of tastes, opinions, etc. How lifeless and boring hearing and experiencing the same over and over.

I'd rather post this to the author of the article, but whatever. This video, despite the claims of the headline, was totally shot using cameras. I actually work at a company that makes these kinds of cameras. They capture light using the same technology as other digital cameras, but instead of using something like a traditional flash, with bright white light, you use a specific frequency of light with special characteristics that allow you to measure how far the light has gone before it returns to the camera, thus providing the depth imaging seen in the video. That's for the big scene. And as for the mention about structured light? That's a technique that uses flashes of bright light from specific positions to capture the depth data. But in this case, the scene is captured with, get this, regular video cameras. The data is just interpreted in a special way to get the depth information.Sorry for the rant. It's just weird to see the technology that I work with come into the pop culture and then be totally misrepresented.

the video is amazing but aside from that it's by far my favorite song of theirs, but I'm the kind of guy who paid for In Rainbows, i.e. a hardcore fan.
