chron.com — Call it a curse, a friend, even Aunt Flo -- but don't call it obligatory. As the new birth control pill that eliminates women's periods hits pharmacies this week, some will say goodbye to menstruation. More though, it seems, are wary of eliminating the monthly bleeding that's symbolic of womanhood.

besides, that would mean EVERY woman would have to take it, and we know that ain't gonna happen.

Oh gosh - are you all retarded? "A pill that eliminates your period!!" All you have to do is not take your placebo pills and start the next pack right away. It's not like you had to wait for this one to arrive.

"I know another method to eliminate the period, but i'll come back in nine months with even worse problems ...."Not a problem - dont come back.

I'm always amazed at how many people will just up and try a new drug minutes it hit's the shelf. Then I can't stop laughing when a couple of months from there on, you hear people dying have strokes etc. as a direct result of the drug. Anybody hear remember the ortho evra patch? I always crack up when you listen to the commercials of drugs like this 'Taking xyz drug might make you drowsy while performing certain activities like driving. "

I meant the reverse. Evolution has had little effect on cancer.

Newsflash! This has been available for over 30 years just not in the U.S. and not in pill form but it's the same thing. So there's been plenty of trial history before it was approved in the U.S. So chicken little, I mean macguy, your lesson for today just because you read about something today doesn't mean your the first to know about it.

I LOVE having sex while I am menstruating. I find that it calms the involuntary muscle spasms in my uterus, also known as menstrual cramps. Menstrual blood is not gross, or dirty. In a culture where we are so bombarded with blood and gore you would think most people would be a little more accepting of a little blood on their wanger!

Having a period is an evolution. Menstruation and the fact that it's cycles follows that of the moon has provided an opportunity for women to understand their rhythms and cycles. Following your cycle with the moon is a helpful tool for avoiding pregnancy. As you follow your cycle you become farmiliar with the feelings associated with ovulation and menstruation. Instead of taking the jumping on the oral contraceptive train, as I did when I was young, persuaded by the "benefits", sit with yourself and ask some serious questions. What is keeping me from using condoms? Am I risking other disadvantages of sex (STDs)? How do I feel about my sexual decisions, is taking the pill a way of masking discomfort? How do these drugs affect the web of life?
