You can import your Firefox bookmarks with a well-working extension. Can't remember its name (not at my computer at them moment) but you should find it easily from the Mozilla website. Also, there's an excellent app for importing and exporting of bookmarks between different browsers. Can't remember the name of that either, but it's coded by a Swedish guy. This app is the only one that has worked for me between all browsers.

del.icio.us lets you export to a bookmarks.html format, which Google will hopefully let you import.
