mail.google.com — Google has just added a new feature to Gmail. You can now send messages you were about to email to a Gtalk user who has just signed on. Gmail will even then combine the email and the chat converstation in a single thread.

How is this a new feature? It's been on Gmail for at LEAST two months. AT LEAST.

Why? Just curious. I use Gmail a lot, but never chat, and I'm not thinking that this will be a problem for me. If I used chat, I'd probably love it.

You say archaic, I say elegantly simple.

I'll have to try that...but still, it would make sense to have a button at the top

Here in the UK - I've only just got the chat integration, and the delete button, so It'll probably be another few months before we see this feature too, I Like seeing these posts on Digg else I'd never know they're coming :-)

Add a feature a day and you will get to Google Everything at no time like this article claims:http://www.oozm.com/List_of_Acquisitions_by_Google

Heres the thing, gambit. If you don't care, then why waste time commenting? Its a cool feature, Google wouldn't put the energy and development into rolling out a feature people won't use. How many features has Google rolled out when poeple said "Oh, I'll never use that, its useless" and now there are very few features people don't use, and its mostly because the user is completely unaware.Gtalk is a great example, it was slow to start, there were a lot of haters and yet my list of friends has grown significantly.
