Okay, I have to say this sucks too. I've tried giving it a chance, but it just fails in many different ways. I like threading, but that's all I wanted. I don't want to have to expand the comment tree for EVERY post. There are weird glitches with buried comments. It's practically impossible to navigate through a sub-thread which has buried posts at different levels. And I really hate having to click to show more discussions over and over on big posts. Oh, and your script died on me in Firefox because it's too bloated. I appreciate the efforts, but this just sucks. Really.

And I disagree with you. The old design was not right. Neither is slashdot. If you think about a comment system, it's all about organization. I don't need every comment up. Just the ones I think is good. Personally, I hate Slashdot's nested system. It's way too complicated for the average user. And my email is full enough without comment tracking. Also, a single idiot can derail a thread. I usually read a thread until i come up upon a string of stupid comments. I won't look down the thread if i have to wade through bulls**t. There has to be a better way to wade through all the digg kiddy bulls**t that pops up. 5-level nesting isn't the way.

Click on "Global Settings", there is a drop-down menu that allows you to change settings for every thread. What I wish Digg would do personally is keep the comments rolled up, but loaded. That way when there's 5 comments you're not stuck waiting 5 minutes :)

I am tired of having to re expand all the comments even though I have it set in my settings to have the comments pre expanded... It will collapse and expand itself at will some times... Bring back an option for the old system.
