You know, I hate the attitude of some diggers. Seems like all they're good for is flaming people. Yes, it's fake, but don't give the guy a hard time about it.
I will say a prayer for the mental midgets that think that is real. Digg is starting to bum me out, all these fake stories, old stories, inaccurate stories, etc.. I don't think this Digg fad is going to last if it keeps up like this.
a tighter [problem?] section could prevent stories like this from getting up front. And users with a lot of bad story report should require more digg to get in frontpage. I know it's bending the concept of digg but might be usefull someday. Please remember I copyrighted that idea. (Oh no! The MPAA & RIAA already own it!!!) :p
Being a designer working on Apple Canada's ad campaigns at Omnicom I can tell this is fake simply in branding terms. It's way too unprofessional. Few things that don't check out with Apple's strict branding policy/styleguide;1. the copywriting is horrible and well below Apple standards.2. Apple would never allow the use of a red strikeout at the end of the ad3. the fades at the beginning were not done the right way, they are stills of an iPod faded in. That would never fly.4. the composite iPod looks like s**te... even pre-release ads need some degree of quality.my two cents.. believe it if you will, but this ad would never make it to the public.
Ha ... Ya, this add is probably fake; but I will be laughing at all you dorks when Apple actually releases their video player and it looks just like this!! ... back to work!!!

I think it would be more realistic if when the text was crossed out, "iPod AV" was printed.Related Story:"A possible design for the next generation iPod, resolving smudges/scratches"<a class="user" href="http://www.digg.com/links/A_possible_design_for_the_next_generation_iPod,_resolving_smudges_scratches">http://www.digg.com/links/A_possible_design_for_the_next_generation_iPod,_resolving_smudges_scratches</a>
