The wifi here is total crap, yet my roku streaming from netflix is about the only thing that doesn't have a problem with the signal strength and speed. I'm not thrilled with a lot of things about how netflix set things up, but I'll admit their service really does seem to scale well.
Just softmod your Wii to play DVDs. Turns out the Wii is perfectly capable of doing it, but for some reason Nintendo decided to lock that function down, software-wise. Seems like a dumbass move to me, but whatever.

Good thing you told us. I would have otherwise thought my Wii would magically output a 1080p signal with the Netflix disc in the drive.

You can also get Adult Swim, PBS and a bunch of other content providers through PlayOn through plugins.
