money.cnn.com — In a corporate blog post today, Netflix (NFLX) said 50 of its technical specialists in its customer service group will be let go at the start of next year. The reason? The company isn?t blaming the economy, it?s blaming Microsoft?s (MSFT) Silverlight.

If you ever submitted a story, depending on how you submitted it (via a third party site's digg submit link, cutting and pasting URL into Digg, Digg toolbar, etc...) it can copy/paste the first couple of sentences AND the title. That's why the two are identical. Most people write in NYSE trading symbols into their descriptions.

This is one of the reason I never design a perfect application. I don't see any logic in me giving them a perfect application and they giving me a pink slip.

No flash is an animation based system. Silverlight is easier to program for and the tools (IDE) annihilate flashes. Also silverlight does a very good job at separating the front end (GUI) from the backend (code) so that its easy to prototype something and then make it look fantastic later without doing any programming.

This is the interesting part about Netflix. NetFlix has been downgraded by several brokers in the industry including Merriman, Wedbush, Barclay's Capital and Kaufman Bros. They all downgraded NetFlix to hold or underperform and this prediction was made from as far back as March this year. The brokers have notably held on to this position. It was also downgraded by Susquehanna Financial and Kaufman Bros. on March, 3rd 2010 and price was 67.50 but now stock is up around $126.42, almost double. During the months of April and May some other brokerage firms downgraded NetFlix but they are still trying to find out why the stock is going up and up by as much as $40 to $50. Although the brokers mentioned like the fundamentals of NetFlix they think the major reason for the inflated price is the rumor of the AMAZON buy-out which they do not think will pan out. If brokers feel that a bust is eminent and it's just a matter of time before prices come tumbling down on this stock then they need to wait a little more or re-open NetFlix file again.Dailye.com tracks the accuracy of upgrades, downgrades and Initial Recommendations issued by brokerage firms and compare this data for you.
