appleinsider.com — PC sales are in free fall as the weak demand for Windows desktops and full-size notebooks in a poorly performing global economy is being compounded by an influx of low cost netbooks, which are gobbling up the remains of profitability in the PC industry.

I love my Macbook pro (got it free baby.. OOHH yeah) but it is a PITA to carry around. I would love a quick and easy netbook that I can bring to clients, and save my macbook pro for a mobile full station or even some minor gaming (it does ok, but mobile nvidia... eww).

they are high in price but for me at least the time i save not having to run virus scans, system cleanups, etc is well worth the price

a more attractive monopoly is STILL a monopoly -- and that's BAD for consumers

Haha, actually I would. I'm not an apple fanboy! I couldn't say I'm 100% pro-MS, but I definately prefer a PC to an Apple anyday. I was just curious...

Maddjonesy, you called yourself a grammar nazi in th one post, but apparently you're prone to typos as well:Should be: "Apple fanboy", "I wouldn't", "definitely", "any day"Maybe it's time to retire as a "Grammar Nazi", since you obviously can't keep it up all the time.

Apple has released some great consumer products, there's no arguing with that. Yes they tend to be overpriced but that's their market and they are successful. Apple knows its customers.Comparing the iPhone to netbooks is borderline absurd, though. They fill very different niches and both are successful in their own way. IMHO the iPhone's success is a blip on the radar, a temporary advantage that Apple has exploited. Android's momentum alone is too much for iPhone to handle, and it will only be a year or two before Android overtakes the iPhone in market share. The iPhone won't go away, but its influence will be greatly diminished. Question for Apple is what area they will next exploit which doesn't have as much competition.
