One good reason *not* to jailbreak your iPhone: It voids your warranty!

no, it doesn't void your warranty. it's removable and replaceable software. all you have to do is use itunes and restore with 2.1 or whatever million new versions are sure to follow if/when you need to go back.

Is there a good central site that has links to good apps, widgets, themes etc. for jailbroken iPhones?

RE: " 8. Phone Modem: Made pointless with one command: ssh -d 1080 iPhone.local. Replace iPhone with the name of your phone, and use localhost:1080 as your proxy server. Done. "Don't you need to jailbreak to run ssh on the iPhone?

no jailbreaking for me. jailbroke my iphone, installed a couple of apps that seemed useful: (categories, status icons, intelliscreen), and my iPhone became far more unstable than any device i have ever used (and that includes early AppStore app crashes). when i un-jailbroke it, all of the Apps that I placed into Categories no longer displayed and I had to rejailbreak, turn their visibility back on, backup my iphone to itunes, then unjailbreak again.complete waste of my time for zero benefit
