Dolphin and Konqueror, just looks bad. (I'm not trolling.) It just doesn't look like it was built to flow together with its elements. To me it looks like it was just pasted on with no natural real flow.
Users that don't like the default will put the effort into finding an alternative that suits them better. They've already done that to switch from Windows after all.
I've been using Dolphin as file manager since i heard about it a few months ago. It's lighter than Konqueror and does what i want it to. I use firefox for web and Kftpgrabber for ftp gui. Although I just discovered how nicely Konqueror renders man pages, so I'll use it for that maybe. The point is, a lot of people want a light file manager and i'm glad it is here.
:-) Very funny! Next time I want a file manager that can't even copy files to a network without hanging, I'll certainly give Microsoft a call.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
Yes, it is the idea... Konqueror is a window that contains other komponents. It is how enjoy Linux, it is a central application and despite other comments it is fast, at least faster than opening separate image browser, web browser, pdf viewer, ftp / sftp connection, text editor, I can name more, it is the ultimate tool (swiss army knife has nothing on it compared to konqueror). I think KDE has too many Gnome developers assimilated.
