broadbandreports.com— There has been a lot (TON) of discussion on broadbandreports about a nationwide comcast DNS outage. There are instructions on how to change to alternate (level3) DNS servers. Just a FYI!

comcast has be so annoyed. of course their tech people wont help.... "ughhh try turning your modem off for ten seconds.......that didnt work? try reseting your router..... that didnt work either? ughhh it must be your computer" thanks for the help you lazy bastards.
You can't be that mad at there tech support I was one and the only way they found out about this is by trying to ping the DNS them selfs. I don't know this but I would bet this is what would happen. When you talk to them ask them how the weather in Winnipeg is.
it took me about 5 minutes on hold. not too bad. i actually thought it was the signal to the modem (i put a coaxial cable splitter on yesterday) but it was eastcoast wide.my AIM was working. email and web was down. screwy.while i was getting everything back to normal on my end, i had a first: two f**king moochers on my wireless hub. [copy and paste mac addresses to "blocked"]asses.
ya know what, to comcast's credit, they are pretty good at uptime. i run a 24-hour web radio station and this is the first time in about 3 or 4 months that the connection has been interrupted.pattersonb: yeah i was looking at that. i'm working on it, but right now i am thinking of anonymously putting flyers in the mailboxes of my community (townhouse community) telling them that if they go on my internet connection, ill pop their tires.that. then wep :)
ok thats going to far you know. but lol. that would be funny. better make it "i will ignite a propane tank under your car!!" instead lol now that would bea show to see.!!

I think the dns outage had something to do with the bandwidth upgrades, I went from 3.2/.25 to 3.8/.4

so it wasn't just my connection last night and my non-comcast personal webspace didn't have 5 hours of outage!
