cnn.com — Seventy-five percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Friday said they're glad Bush is going; 23 percent indicated they'll miss him. "As President Bush prepares to leave office, the American public has a parting thought: Good riddance. At least that's the way three-quarters feel."

The French are protective of their language, but I really doubt it's due to insecurity. And let me guess: you were one of those people who vindictively ate "freedom" fries while having your panties in a twist (waist doesn't really make any sense, now, does it?) after 9/11 when France didn't jump on our war-mentality bandwagon when we snapped our fingers.

@digpiglet Here is one such case, i can probably find a dozen more. Most however are still a secret. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Mayfield 1) The lack of attack is not a sign that he has stopped them. When there is a cell broken up then we can talk about this. After the first attack on the world trade center nothing was done, but there still wasnt another attack for 8 years.2) The subprime fiasco did not occure overnight, It has been occuring since 2000 and nothing was done. The democratic majority happened at the same time making it impossible for them to have passed some radical bill to have caused it. The lack of oversight caused this issue and as president he should have been on top of this issue.3) Inflation has been at the same rate for around 80 years with very few spikes due to economic down turn. This does not make him a good president. 4) Successfully, we have royally screwed up the war in Afghanistan which is causing us to redeploy troops to stabalize the area. We went to war with a major goal of catching Osama Bin-Ladin which we did not. We also were told by Bush that the war in Iraq will be over in a few days instead we became an occupying force for 5 years. While this recent surge in Iraq has been successfull we would not have needed it if the insurgency wasnt underestimated. 5) Yes he did lower tax's he should be commended for following his campaign promises. While i personally feel this did not help our current economic situation i can agree that he followed one of his promisses.6) Another great point he gave 15 billion dollars to fight AIDS. 7) While it is good i dont consider this a great achievment.8) This is completly overshadowed by the vetoing of the Childrens Health Care bill. 9) While he has removed most of there influence in Afghanistan he still hasnt ended the organization. In fact he has spawned more fanaticals in other countrys.10) Yup it worked, i agree its a good point i talked about this earlyer.11) Saddam was not a threat to the US nore was he one of the worst dictators. You have listed a few things but many of them were minor or fix's for his own messups. Now compare them to the list above and see that they cannot compare to the failures of his administration. As for Obama i cannot say how good his presidency will be only his acts will show. What i do know is that he is taking office with a failing economy, two wars and many other issues which will definatly hamper what ever attemps he does try.Lastly i am happy that you atleast said hes is a good president i understand that many of the issues depend on opinion but i hope you understand now that we are not brainwashed there are alot of issues that have made our view on president Bush.
