arstechnica.com — Parents often get a bad rap when it comes to video games. If they aren't complaining about how violent games are and then ignorantly buying their children the same games, they're on a crusade to get their children to go outside and enjoy the real world. However, nothing you've seen, heard, or read before will prepare you for the latest concern...

"She mocks their sudden interest in these virtual sports and their so-called "exercise," despite the obvious physical benefits."Seriously speaking she is right. Wii Sports is a poor substitute for actually playing these sports. It is great to make video games a more active event but anyone here who has played tennis, or baseball or even tried some boxing can tell you without a bat of an eye that this video game is not even a fraction of their real life counterparts. The arguements about how games and real life should not be compared kinda fall flat in this area. Growing up I have seen the affects that games have on people. I am an avid gamer but I party and go out often. There are many people I have met that actually play many games and base all of their social interactions off of their experience in thier gaming and online comunities. I believe that the same might be transfered over to sports games.I will NEVER say that games are harmful, but people are people. There is only so much a parent can do. Personality traits grown out of people who are detached with the outside world are downright scary. It has taken me aback how some of these responses to what she has said, fall into ad hominem attacks.

The article is someone talking about the thing NPR said? =\ Post what NPR said, not the bias...
