climateprogress.org— NOAA: “Methane levels rose in 2008 for the second consecutive year after a 10-year lull,” CO2 concentrations are up 2.1 ppm to highest levels on record “despite economic slump”

Rising methane levels during economic downturn are signs of bad things to come. Warming of the tundra / melting of the permafrost and outgassing thermokarst lakes. Methane is 25 times more powerful than CO2 as a greenhouse gas. There's lots more methane trapped there, enough to cook us. And it's apparently happened before, so it could happen again, see Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum 55 MYA. Yes, there was a mass extinction, which killed all the large mammals, and yes we're defined as 'large'. We must cut emissions, even if we have to use fast reactors, not the current inefficient thermal reactors which can lead to nuclear weapons.
here's a great question, What are the posibility that a cataclysm will happen (greenhouse and methane gases at " the highest levels that homo sapien has ever seen" will react with solar activity starting to climb this year to a solar max at the middle of 2011, which will be the highest in 50 years). Combine the two of these events, what would be the outcome?
