delmarvanow.com — Governor Ruth Ann Minner (no credentials) is upset that scientist David R. Legates (professor, university of Delaware, and until now, state climatologist for the state of Delaware) has said that global warming is "climate alarmism." She has now forbidden him to use the "state climatologist" title because his views disagree with her administration.

The article is interesting reading, as are some of the comments at the bottom, particularly the one about funding. Note that Legates is unpaid (by the state), his income comes from the university; while global warming represents a huge influx of PAC money (on both sides) and fertile ground for considerable legislation for the politicians to get involved with.Generally speaking, it is always a sign of something... unusual... when a politician overrules a scientist. After all, a political figure knows more about global warming... right?
