arstechnica.com — The National Football League has been historically very protective of its broadcasts, slapping anyone who even tries to put a clip on the Internet. Now, though, the league has reversed course and will offer live streaming video of its Sunday night games, starting this fall.

> "I prefer to watch my football games in High Def on a big screen thanks. "As long as the games are in your own market, or you have DirecTV.I think the point of this is you can watch any game from any market, right on your computer screen. Imagine being able to watch any of the 16 games each weekend... instead of only 2 games that your particular CBS affiliate gets.Give then credit for trying. Prior to this there were NO games streamed online.

I seem to remember a year ago they released their draconian content distribution policy. Don't you love it when a plan comes together?

I'm unimpressed as of yet. I don't want to see the Sunday night game that everyone can see on basic cable. I want the option to see EVERY game, even if they charged for it. Maybe in a couple of seasons.

hahaha yea rite, trust me when they finally release something (if at all they do) it will be so unusable and probably be really restrictive requiring you to download a DRM enforcing video player to watch it.

> "i like to enjoy what i'm watching and how i'm watching it. "Go ahead. I'm sure you're not the target audience for NFL streaming. But I have a feeling that the NFL will continue with this even though you oppose it.What are your thoughts on 'any' internet streaming? How on Earth did you enjoy television before HD?You are an HD snob! And capitalizing letters is AWESOME!
