sourceforge.net — Yep we have a N64 Emulator! StrmnNrmn has released the first public build of his N64 Emulator, Daedalus. And it's working pretty good. Although it's a port, it still shows that given the right amount of perseverance, anything can be achieved.

i think its great that there is so much of a homebrewed thing going on with the PSP, that could not have been done with a perfect line up so im pretty happy that they f**ked up the games.... Without the homebrewed they probably wouldnt have as many updates, without as many updates they wouldnt have had as many features, so everyone that enjoys more features or lots of homebrewed stuff wins

Nintendo doesn't even own the patent for the NES.

I have to ask... How much fun is it exactly playing N64 games with limited controllability anyways? I mean the 64 games I played all abused the C-buttons as much as others and they were very important in the grand control scheme of things. How can one actually tolerate playing them on a PSP let alone have fun doing it?It seems to be one of those "Look at what I can do!! I'm awesome because I can play these on my PSP no matter how hard it is!" type situations... I used to try SNES emulation on my GBA, but realized in due time that it wasn't worth the hassle trying to play some of those games when you didn't have all the necessary buttons. The only real playable games are usually RPGs or simple platform games.

Actually the SNES emulator does, and has run at full speed for a while now

Wow Nintendo fanboys on digg spamming PSP threads.... SHOCKER!!!!

Do you have any clue wafflesomd? Its not because it doesn't have games but because people WANT to play Nintendo, Sega, Atari and MAME games also. Why have just PSP games when you can play all of them.

Im completely new to this whole homebrew scene and I honestly dont know how it works. But I have a maybe a simple suggestion that may have been brought up. I have read that the psp can be overclocked or at least be made to run fatser, wouldnt this solve the slow framerate issue or do emulators work in another way? Sorry for the newb question guys, dont eat me alive.

Just to let everyone know, there is a nice emulator out there now called Daedalus Spiff Up v 1.3. This emulator is nice, runs Mario 64 at a decent speed, but still needs lots of work (try running Super Smash Bros.! Its really buggy and half the textures don't show up). Nevertheless, it is still a giant step towards finally getting a full speed N64 emulator, which will happen in time. To answer your question adams734, in many emulators you can set your PSP CPU speed to maximum, but I believe setting it any higher would cause the PSP to crash or be damaged. Its ok to ask noob questions, I'm new to this site myself (not new to PSP homebrew though). That's what we're here for : )

I really shouldn't be replying to this considering it's 2 years old but really, you could use the D-pad for the C's, Joystick for the control and camera, and symbols for the direction of movement.
