popularmechanics.com — In this PopularMechanics article, Jamie Hyneman, most famous for the show "Mythbusters" describes his Tech Headaches, including his frustration with the "bloated" features in Vista among other irritations. He offers solutions to many of the problems, and apparently, Ubuntu is the solution to Vista.

Nothing insightful here. He likes Vista, thats his opinion. As a developer, I find windows much less useful than linux, thats my opinion.

Actually Vista's graphics driver foundation doesn't require reboots, however it is strange that graphics companies aren't taking advantage of this. Also there are many drivers and services that can now be updated or installed without having to reboot. Really you should do some more research and see for yourself. They did a lot in Vista to reduce reboots and increase stability.

Try and install Quicktime on Linux? Try installing Rhythmbox on Windows. Oh wait...

game runs in OpenGL on Macintosh != game runs on Linuxthe game must first be ported to Linux. running in OpenGL makes it a hell of a lot easier, but a game that runs on a Mac will not just run on Linux. newb.

True, providing they can get their linux box to work.

I know IBM makes beautiful keyboard...Keyboard I have right now is a nearly a look alike one but it has its ups and downs.I know because a friend spilled something on his and needed a new keyboard i (maybe shouldn't have) suggested he use that one for the time being.Pro's:Under $10 can take an entire cup of water spilt on it etc endure is good.I can Press 6 keys at once down on it so it can help with fast typing.Design and feel are very nice because of how close it resembles an IBM keyboard.Con's:Short USB cord getting a 6 ft extension for it for about 5 dollars.Link if people want to see it.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 ...Same one with WorldWide Lang Supporthttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 ...6 ft extension cordhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 ...

You never stated what Linux Version nor what Windows Version nor what hardware you're asking to get yourself to eat those words...Linux DSL fully optimized at compilation for the hardware of say32MiB RAM1GiB Drive4MiB Graphics200Mhz ProcessorThen put it against Vista on that hardware (goodluck hacking Vista down to just about nothing on there.) with Vista's optimization for newer hardware work against it.After that I'm pretty sure Linux would be running that 100x faster speed...

He said debian. and if your going to do that, then you can always compile your own version of a hacked windows, slipstreamed with unessecary killed processes, and then pit it against the most cpu intensive linux distro. We are talking about modern OS's on modern hardware, your just apparently too stupid to understand that.
