chaseandsam.com — Somebody has managed to hack Myspace with a flash redirect that exploits what is apparently a gaping wide hole in their code. If you are signed into Myspace, and you go to a compromised page, you will be redirected to a blog post containing a diatribe about how the U.S. government is behind 9/11 & your page will now be hijacked! Solution at link.

Sorry my post got cut off. But no, e-mail doesn't work for music promotion. Having yet another band web page doesn't work. And why would paedos be interested in band/performer profiles? Plenty of people here are making money out of it, so why are they stupid again?

It's true that myspace has a myriad of problems and that there are a lot of lame people on it. Despite those facts it is still useful for a variety of things like networking, finding people you use to go to school with, talking to music artists, getting event notifications from places you go if they are on there, etc... Those are the reasons I use it for at least. The way I look at it, there are no alternatives to it YET because people aren't willing to just try out a bunch of new social networking sites when they hear about myspace on the radio, from their friends, and even tv all the time. Now, for all these myspace attacks, I've never been infected by anything from the site. It just takes common sense to read whats in the address bar, to know if a message someone sent you seems suspicious or not, to know if a bulletin put up by someone doesn't seem like it is from them, to remember to update your system for critical bugs, to at least every now and then check your system for viruses/trojans/spyware/etc... So until the day a social networking site comes out that is as popular for what I use it for, I'm going to stick with it. And for all those people that don't have anything better to do than to flame everything they don't like just because they don't like it, learn that your not going to get anywhere in life by being a complete a**
